My 8 year old Bosch Dishwasher (SHU3306UC) just caught on fire. Literally -- flames coming out the front from the start buttons. If my son hadn't been home to put it out we could have lost the house. No matter how old a dishwasher is, it shouldn't catch on fire!
Also, this dishwasher uses the heat left in the dishes after the rinse cycle to dry them, which doesn't work for anything plastic. So all of the plastic items had to be put in the dish drainer to dry.
Otherwise, worked great. Was very quiet, and sterilized the dishes.
